Book your Christmas Tree Collection and support our local hospice 🎄
For 5 years, Hospice of the Good Shepherd has collected Christmas trees from our local area around Cheshire West, Chester and Deeside. It’s a true community effort, with volunteers and tree suppliers spreading the word. Local businesses provide vans and volunteers, while tree recycling services ensure free recycling.
Your donation goes directly to the hospice, helping us continue providing exceptional patient care. Join our Christmas tree collection and make a difference this festive season!
Giving is better than receiving! Revel in that warm feeling after Christmas by recycling your Christmas tree and knowing you have provided essential care to people in our local community.
Easy as 1, 2, 3
- Register your tree.
- Leave it outside for pick up.
- We’ll come and take it away.
When will we collect your tree?
Our volunteers will be out collecting trees between Saturday 11th January and Tuesday 14th January.
Where do we collect from?
Our Christmas Tree Collection team serves Chester, Ellesmere Port, Deeside, Malpas, South Wirral and Deeside. We will be collecting from areas with these postcodes: CH1, CH2, CH3, CH4, CH5, CH64, CH65, CH66, WA6 & CW6
There is no a standard charge to have your tree collected, just a donation to help us provide a variety of services to our patients and their families throughout our community. Choose your amount and leave the rest to us.
Our average donation last year worked out at £16.12, we collected over 3300 and raised in excess of £40,000 helping pay for 3 days of running costs.
Our Christmas Tree Collection service is an essential source of funds for the hospice, please support us this Christmas by allowing us to collect and recycle your Christmas tree.
We have various suggested donation amounts so you can pay what you can afford, and you can know exactly what your donation is helping us to fund:
£15.23 – Provide meals for a patient for a day
£10.00 – Contribute towards PPE
£50.00 – Support a child with bereavement counselling
£114.72 – Fund half an hour of Inpatient Care
£25.40 – Provide products for the living well therapies
£5.00 – Donate towards the heating costs
Or choose your own amount
Choosing to book your Christmas tree collection with your local hospice rather than a national charity ensures that your donation stays within and supports people within your local community. This means that your money will directly support neighbours, colleagues and friends in need of palliative care, carer support, and children in need of bereavement and counselling services.
When you donate to a national charity, a portion of your donation goes towards administrative costs and national campaigns. This means that less money is available to support your local community with more targeted services. By choosing to donate to a local hospice, you can be sure that your money is being used to make a real difference in the lives of people in your own community.
Supporting local programs and building a stronger sense of community go hand-in-hand. By booking your tree collection with the Hospice of the Good Shepherd you are investing in a resource that local people rely upon, and helping to ensure it remains available for everyone who may need us in the future. So this Christmas, please consider booking your Christmas tree collection with your local hospice. Your donation will make a real difference in the lives of people in need and help build a stronger, more caring community for all.
