The marathon features a city centre start and finish, taking runners past Chester’s iconic landmarks—such as the Roman Walls, Cathedral, Eastgate Clock, and Amphitheatre—before heading into the Cheshire and North Wales countryside. The course returns along the River Dee for a memorable finish on Castle Drive. It is run on fully closed roads.
