Great North Run – Take on the UK’s biggest half marathon for your local hospice

Join 60,000 runners for one of the most iconic running events on the planet. The Great North Run is the UK’s largest half marathon, attracting runners of all abilities to its legendary 13.1‑mile route from the heart of Newcastle to the seafront at South Shields. With huge crowds, live entertainment and unforgettable moments like the famous Red Arrows flyover, it’s a race day experience like no other.

By taking part for our hospice, every mile you run helps us provide compassionate, specialist care to people across West Cheshire & Deeside. With only a small portion of our funding coming from the government, your support makes a meaningful difference to local families coping with life‑limiting illness. Choosing to run the Great North Run for us means turning a world‑class challenge into real impact for your community.

To secure one of our charity places, we ask runners to raise a minimum sponsorship of £395, ensuring your incredible effort directly supports the patients and families who rely on us. Many charities set pledges around a similar level, helping raise millions each year through this event.
