The Team Welcomes Toni

She has two martial arts black belts, completed two gruelling Tough Mudder endurance events and fulfilled a lifetime ambition of swimming with dolphins in Florida.

Action girl Toni Waters was welcomed by the fundraising team here at The Hospice of the Good Shepherd earlier this month as our new Corporate and Relationship Manager.

Bradford-born Toni joined the hospice team from leading home-builders Watkin Jones where she was responsible for EDI and Wellbeing matters.

Toni is married with two daughters aged 10 and 15. A keen fitness enthusiast, she gained her first black belt accreditation in Shotokai at the age of just 17.  Her second black belt in Shotokan came ten years later.

She is an active member of the PTA at Cherry Grove Primary school and lists walking, running with her dog Riley and spending time with friends amongst her hobbies.

“Swimming with dolphins was always at the very top of my bucket list,” said Toni. “Getting to live that dream in Florida alongside my husband and children was just amazing.”

Toni helped organise several fundraisers in her previous role. “I’ve always enjoyed my involvement with the charity sector and I’m so pleased now to be working for a charity that is so loved and respected,” she said.

Toni added: “I’ve had such a wonderful welcome – it’s such a warm, happy and supportive place to work, and such a privilege to be part of a team that shares such a strong commitment to caring for others at such a challenging time of their lives.”
