Register for the 10th Anniversary Chester Santa Dash!
Are you ready to pull on your Santa suit and spread some Christmas cheer around the streets of Chester whilst raising funds for two deserving charities this December?
For the tenth year running, join us by taking part in the Chester Santa Dash, although as with all things 2020 things will be a little different this year to remain COVID secure.
We are looking for eager walkers, runners, Dashers and Dancers to help raise much needed funds for the Hospice of the Good Shepherd and The Countess charity.
Justin Caroe, Community and Events Manager, said: “We’re delighted to be holding the 10th Anniversary of the Chester Santa Dash this year. This is a fantastic family event where you can get your whole household involved in raising vital income for two great charities!”
He continued: “In light of the pandemic, we are having to do things differently this year but we hope you will still be able to support us. With most of our fundraising activities cancelled, every penny counts!”
“Over the past 9 years this event has raised well over £250,000, with over £40,000 generated last year.”
For a registration fee of £20, you will receive your Santa Suit, bespoke medal and free postage and packaging to get you on your way – although suits are limited so sign up now to avoid disappointment!
For all the details and to register, head to: www.chestersantadash.com
To keep all our volunteers and helpers safe at this difficult time, this year the Dash will be Do It Yourself so you can join the festive fun throughout the whole month of December and wherever you can take part safely – run laps around your home, the local park or through the historic streets of Chester.
We have adult and child sized Santa suits available, so get your whole household involved! Remember to send us your photos or tag them on social media with #chestersantadash2020 so we can share them on our own pages!
The Hospice of the Good Shepherd has helped thousands of local people with life limiting illnesses and relies on your donations and fundraising to continue to help even more people in the community.
The Hospice provides entirely free care to the most vulnerable and is currently in an urgent #SaveYourHospice appeal due to funding being hit as a result of Coronavirus.
The Hospice of the Good Shepherd is based in Chester, and serves the communities of West Cheshire, Chester, Ellesmere Port, Deeside and the surrounding areas, caring for patients with life-limiting conditions and supporting bereaved families.
Its dedicated team of staff and healthcare professionals aim to meet the unique physical, emotional, social and spiritual needs of those with life-limiting conditions, and to help maintain their dignity. It provides specialist palliative care for people with cancer and non-cancer life-limiting conditions.
The Hospice offers physical, emotional and spiritual care for patients, as well as family support and bereavement services.
So far, the Hospice of the Good Shepherd has been raising money through virtual events such as quiz nights as well as their weekly lottery draw, where participants have the chance to win £1000 for a cost of just £1 per week. Though fundraising is particularly more difficult due to Government lockdown, they are still determined to keep their Hospice afloat.
