The Hospice of the Good Shepherd Ambassador Programme & Enterprise Challenge is a unique partnership designed for high schools, colleges and universities across Cheshire that serve the communities supported by the hospice.
Through a combination of student leadership, fundraising and enterprise, learners become passionate advocates for their local hospice while gaining valuable experience that supports their personal development and future careers.

The Enterprise Challenge encourages teams of learners to think creatively, work collaboratively and develop real entrepreneurial skills.

Most of our volunteering roles do not require formal qualifications but you will need relevant skills or experience. Some of our volunteer roles require a driving licence and/or a DBS check (Disclosure and Barring Service). Volunteers must be at least 16 years old (dependent upon the volunteer role).

All roles require mandatory training and depending on the role, you will be asked to attend training such as manual handling or food hygiene. This will be arranged in-house and dates and times will be communicated.
Some of our volunteering roles will need a regular commitment whilst some others can be more ad-hoc depending on when you are available and what you would like to do.
Our Service User Group is a small group of people including patients, carers, friends and/or family members who come together to meet and discuss ways in which The Hospice of the Good Shepherd care is delivered and how it can be improved. Our aim is to ensure that the views and opinions of people whose lives have been affected by a life limiting condition are used for improving people’s care and for shaping future Hospice services.
Anyone who has experience of using our Hospice services as a patient, carer, friends and/or family members either currently or in the past 12 months are welcome to join.
