How we are funded

The Hospice of the Good Shepherd, like most other hospices, is not part of the National Health Service (NHS). Although we provide crucial specialist and end of life services which form an integral part of our healthcare system, we operate as an independent charity.

We are incredibly grateful to all those volunteers, companies, organisations and Hospice donors, as well as staff, who make it possible for us to continue providing a vital community service, whether you are taking part in the annual Rotary Dragon Boat Race, baking cakes, selling raffles or having fun in the Colour Fun Run. Without such generosity we wouldn’t be able to provide a local hospice.

There are a number of ways that you can get involved in supporting the Hospice. Visit our Get Involved page to find out more.
