Eggceptional Easter Egg Fundraising

The Hospice Of the Good Shepherd received eggceptional support from the cracking people of Chester and West Cheshire, following our appeal for Easter egg donations.

Kind-hearted individuals and businesses donated more than 500 Easter eggs for us to use in Easter hampers on display across the community. The chocolate hampers could be won by guessing the correct name of the cartoon bunny on the sheet of 60 names.

“It’s no yolk how eggstremely generous people from the local area are when it comes to supporting our patients and their families.  We were overwhelmed by the support received, both in terms of eggs donated, locals participating and venues willing to host a chocolate hamper  said Caroline Siddall, Director of Fundraising  at the Hospice of the Good Shepherd.

Caroline added: “It’s amazing that with almost 30 years of care, the Hospice can always count on the local community to help us when we need them.  We never take that for granted, and I’d like to say a huge thank you to everyone who supported our Easter fundraising. We also had some brilliant hand knitted chicks and Easter gifts donated by kind volunteers for us to sell in our retail shops and Hospice reception”

The hampers and gifts raised in the region of £2000 for the hospice, which will help us to continue to provide care to local patients and their families affected by a life limiting illness.
