Charity Shops

Our charity shops are at the heart of our community and help us provide much needed funds so that the Hospice can continue to provide free end of life care to patients who are living with a life limiting illness.

Hospice of the Good Shepherd charity shops offer high-quality items for sale at reasonable prices. We are reliant upon donations of good quality furniture, clothing, bric -a-brac and electrical goods to ensure we can stock our shops. All money raised through the donations and sale of items into our shops support the vital end of life care delivered by our dedicated team at the Hospice.

Donate To Our Shops

If you don’t need it, don’t throw it away. We will be delighted to receive your good quality preloved donations. Here’s how you can donate:

We are always grateful for donations of good quality second hand goods and currently as we are unable to accept donations via our shops your items can be collected from you free of charge. Please use our Collection Form here.

  • Furniture such as sofas, chairs, beds, wardrobes, dining room furniture. (Before you complete our form to book a collection it would be helpful if you can check that all upholstered furniture has a fire label, otherwise we are unable to accept them.)
  • White Goods such as fridges/freezers/washing machines/dishwashers
  • Small household electricals
  • Clothing
  • Homewares
  • Books, CDs and DVDs
  • Jewellery, bags and accessories

Please complete our Collection Form. Once you have completed and submitted this form you’ll be contacted within 48 hours by one of our team to confirm your booking (If you are completing this form on a Friday, Saturday or Sunday, we will contact you on the next available working day). At this time we will discuss our health and safety guidelines with you. When our van driver comes to collect they will make the final decision on any donations.

We cannot accept damaged goods/items that need repair as this will incur additional costs for the Hospice. Upholstered donations must have fire safety labels attached, as per the examples below:

The government’s Gift Aid scheme means that we can reclaim an extra 25p for every pound raised, making the value of your stock donations go further, at no extra cost to you. A member of our team will ask you about gift aiding your stock donation.
